Genesis 4:15 ....And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
Through Cain's disobeidence and sin, we find in the scripture that God marked him. This was a mark that Cain could not remove and stayed on him all the days of his life. I preached a message yesterday on this very topic about how some things in life can "mark" you all the days of your life. Cain was marked by failing to take care of his sin and get things right with God. Sin is awful and leaves an awful mark on the lives of people. We read also in Genesis the account of Abraham and Sarah attempting to assist the Lord in the flesh. Subsequently, their decision produced Ishmael, a wild man. Throughout all the history of the world Ishmael and his descendants have left a "mark" everywhere they have gone. We also read of Dinah, in Genesis 34, who did not flee her youthful passions and was "marked" for life. Not only did this mark Dinah, but Simeon and Levi were "marked" as a result of their decsion to slaughter the men of Shechem.
We can follow this topic and thought all the pages of the Holy Scripture, how men and women have been marked for life by not taking care of sin in their life! We can read of great men such as King David, Solomon, Sampson, etc., all of these "marked" in some way for life!
Dear friend let us keep short accounts with God and seek His forgiveness for the wrongs we commit in this life. All we do, say, or think has consequences not only for ourselves but others!
