In our text below, God is moving the Israelites from Egypt and He says I will put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel. It reminds me of the New Testament verse in 2 Corinthians 6:17, "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,"

I see 10 WAYS we as Christians should be different than Egypt, a type of the world.

Exodus 11:7 ...that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.

1. Walk- Our walk should be different than the world. The places we go and the direction we take in life should be done in all to honor our Lord.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2. Words- Vile, lewd, filthy language should not come out the mouth of a born again child of God. There should be a difference in our speech. Our tongues our in our mouths to glorify God and edify the Saints.

Ephesians 4:29 Let no † corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

3. Works- Ephesians 2:8-10. A Christian should have different works and motive for works. We are God's Workmanship.

4. Witness- 1 Cor. 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. The word "glorify" as used here means to give an opinion of, our witness should give the world a positive opinion about who our God is to us.

5. Ward Robe- Deut. 22:5. Your clothing how you present yourself should be different. It is a shame we have to address this matter, but men should dress like men and women should dress like women. God says it is an abomination for a man to dress like a woman and vice versa! No matter what our filthy society or world condones, God has condemned it!

6. Worship- John 4. Worship God in Spirit and Truth. The world worships money, self, prestige, accomplishments, etc. The focus of our worship should be the Lord Jesus Christ!

7. Weathers storms of Life differently. Mark 4. How Christians get through storms of life puts a difference between us and the world. We as Christians have someone to lean on during tough times and trials in our lives.

8. Wins others to Jesus. Mixed multitude came out. Exodus 12:38. In this verse we see some of the Egyptians actually came out with the Israelites. We should always endeavor to win lost souls to the Lord Jesus Christ.

9. Wars not with other Jesus. Galatians 5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. Fellow Christians we are on the same team! Let us no war amongst ourselves lest we consume one another. You may worship differently, you may preach differently, there are some points of doctrine we may disagree on, but lets keep this in mind we have one common foe and that is the devil!

10. Was protected by blood. Exodus 12:23 when God sees blood He makes a difference. I saved the best for last! The main difference between Israel and Egypt was the blood was applied! Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins! Thank God what makes a difference in the life of believer is the blood of the LAMB has been applied!
