"She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household is clothed with scarlet." Proverbs 31:21
This passage deals with an issue that is often crippling – fear of the future unknown. Since we are not sovereign over our lives, we can be sure that we will face situations that will be unexpected and present new challenges. But this reality does not have to cripple us with fear. The anecdote to fear of the future unknown is to diligently provide in the present for the known. In this case, the children need clothing for cold days and hot days. When the cold days arrive, there is no need to panic because the preparations have already been made. Now, all of life is not as foreseeable as the need for winter and summer clothing. But God does not require us to foresee the unforeseeable. He requires diligent preparation now. And when the unforeseeable arrives, the preparations that we have made and the grace He provides in the moment will be sufficient. Our task is to diligently prepare today.
