"Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him." Proverbs 30:5 (part 2)
God’s words are proven true because they are pure. The conclusion one can make from this truth is of great help. Because His words are always proven true, those who trust and follow His words are safe. When we consider placing our trust in God’s words, we must remember that this act of faith never occurs without doubt and opposition. Many times, God’s words contradict everything our natural senses and the voices of worldly wisdom insist upon. And, many times these opposing voices speak with greater volume. It is therefore essential to remember this truth – God is a shield, a refuge to those who put their trust in Him. You are never as safe as when you believe and follow God. This is true not just because He is always proven right. It is true because God’s words are more than words or principles. Instead, they are the words of the God of hosts. He is alive, working not just to protect His truth but also to protect those who trust in His truth. He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him.
