Don’t you wish pride wore a bell around its neck, or presented itself with hazard lights so you could spot it more easily? The problem with pride is that so much of the time, it goes undetected in our lives. Have you ever looked back on an event in your life and felt like you were simply blindsided by pride? Well, the truth of the matter is, unless we are striving to walk in the Spirit, pride is eating us alive every day of our lives. You see, by nature we are given over to rebellious pride and arrogance. It is only through the saving power of Jesus Christ that we can ever overcome this vicious enemy that seeks to destroy us from the inside out. As we seek to deny ourselves, and humbly follow Christ, we can experience victory over our selfish pride. This is a moment by moment battle that must be actively fought through the power of God in Jesus Christ, which allows us to crucify self, and follow Christ in faith.
