How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! Isaiah 52:7
No One Can Preach A Better Gospel
A preacher of old once said, "I know that however many may preach the Gospel better than I do, there is no one who can preach a better Gospel than the one I preach: for I preach the Gospel of God's free and sovereign grace in Christ Jesus."
How true! Our Gospel is the "power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth." Our Gospel gives all the glory to God, for "Salvation is of the Lord." Our Gospel is true to the Scriptures, fulfilling every promise, pattern and type. Our Gospel enables God to be just and justifier of sinners. Our Gospel can save the "chief of sinners," and our Gospel will not lose one sheep given to Christ, called to Christ, and resting in Christ by faith. What a rich and glorious Gospel is our Gospel! Free-Will, False Religion Confronted
Never was there a time in which a bold stand for the distinguishing doctrines of grace was more needed than now; for while Popery is rapidly spreading, and infidelity growing, what is called “the religious world” is contenting itself with the shell of Christianity, to the almost entire neglect of the kernel; yea, in instances, not a few, to the despising of the kernel, as if it were a dangerous, if not a poisonous thing. Proud free will is enthroned – creature capability is extolled – and external show of literature, ceremonies, and splendid buildings are become the idols of the multitude.
It is, therefore, imperative that the few veterans, who know and love the truth of God, should confront the traitor free will, with the boldest statements of God’s free grace; war with the deception of man’s capabilities by insisting upon the helplessness of fallen man, and the efficiency of the Holy Spirit’s operations, exalting Christ alone as the salvation of God, freely given in covenant love – fully accomplished by atoning blood, and fixed immovably in the heart of every elect vessel of mercy by the invincible power of the Holy Ghost.
These are the only weapons that are “mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” (2 Cor. 10:4). Popery and infidelity laugh at the meagre Christianity of the great bulk of professing Protestants . . . but no Cardinal nor Priest dare meet the truth of God, nor a man of truth.

The Miracle of Salvation
The Lord Jesus Christ performed many miracles while upon this earth. He cast out devils, healed lepers, gave sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf; He raised the dead. While these miracles certainly proved him to be the Christ, they are also illustrations of how the Lord saves sinners. Every sinner the Lord saves, is all these things…possessed by a devil, a sinful leper, deaf, dumb, blind, and dead in sin. Salvation is a miracle of God’s sovereign grace and power. Nothing more or less can save a sinner but the power of Christ; the Word, the Truth and the Gospel. May the Lord be pleased to perform a miracle today! Pastor Paul E. Mahan
GOD'S GRACE IS SUFFICIENT
“And he said unto me, my grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me” (2 Cor. 12:9).
What a glorious promise is given to every believer. God's grace, given through our Lord Jesus Christ is all sufficient to the saving purpose of His people (Acts 15:11). Grace is never said to be insufficient but always sufficient to accomplish its intent, purpose and glorious end (2 Tim. 1:9); sufficient, enough, plenty and adequate to justify (Rom. 3:24), to redeem (Eph. 1:6-7), to supply all our every need (Phil. 4:19), to sustain us through all trials (Heb. 13:5) and to strengthen us when weak (Heb. 4:16).
This mighty and sovereign grace appears to us most glorious, sufficient and appreciated when we realize our own weakness, inability and utter helplessness before God (Rom.7:24-25). "Most gladly therefore,"do we rejoice in our own infirmities, and weakness that the power of our Lord Jesus Christ may rest upon us (Rom. 1:16), or tabernacle over us (Psa. 27:5), sheltering (Psa. 46:1), preserving (1Peter 1:5), protecting us from all adversaries and enemies of the gospel (John 10:2-30). Thank God for His unfailing, everlasting, saving, redeeming, electing and all sufficient grace (Rom. 8:37; 1 Cor. 15:57; 2 Cor.9:15).
