"A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent." Proverbs 28:20
In this passage we find a contrast between those who are faithful and those who are hasty. We can see right away that the faithful, are those who patiently and consistently do the things that fall under the realm of their responsibility. In their faithfulness, they slowly but surely prosper as the consistent fruit of their labors begin to multiply and grow. However, those who are trying to make quick gains will find themselves getting into trouble, as they sacrifice faithfulness, for the prospect of gain. The hasty individual has made an idol out of prosperity, and is willing to violate many standards in order to avoid the difficult work and patience that faithfulness requires. May we value faithfulness over prosperity, as we seek to live wisely before God and man.
