There are two categories of people in this passage, those who are diligent to work, and those who are idle and lazy. Those who are diligent to work will prosper. However, those who would become idle and lazy will eventually experience poverty. Many times people become discouraged that they are not able to work their dream job, so they do not work at all. Wisdom would teach us that whatever our hand finds to do, we ought to do it with all of our heart. So, whether your work consist of school and household chores, or an eight to five job, if you are wise, you will work diligently.
