Once again, we have a contrast between the righteous and the wicked. When the righteous triumph, there is rejoicing; but when the wicked triumph, men go into hiding. I can’t help but think of Proverbs 14:34; Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. The effects of sin and wickedness are horrific aren’t they? It’s easy to see how horrible sin is, as we look at verses that clearly spell out the consequences. However, when we view sin in our own lives, somehow, sin just doesn’t seem that bad. May the Lord open our eyes to the seriousness of sin, that we may turn to Him for mercy and grace.
