Part of the deceitfulness of riches, is the notion that those who have obtained wealth, are naturally wise. While the Bible says about money and business practices, it is possible for a fool to stumble into financial success. It is also possible to possess wisdom concerning business, and yet be a fool in the areas of life and spirituality. The phrase “wise in his own conceit”, is where this individual finds their downfall. You see, wisdom and understanding come to those who fear the Lord and seek His precepts. Whether you are rich or poor, wisdom only comes to those who are humble enough to realize that left to themselves, they are fools.
