"The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion." Proverbs 28:1 (part 2)
Yesterday we looked at the paranoia that accompanies the lifestyle of the wicked. In contrast, today we turn to the righteous, which are bold as a lion. While the righteous are not perfect people, they are people who are seeking to walk with God and love their neighbor. They aren’t trying to cover sin, or take advantage of their fellow man, but they seek to do good to those around them; even their enemies. For this reason, the righteous do not maintain a guilty conscience; neither are they paranoid of what’s waiting for them around the next corner. It’s not just that the righteous are lacking paranoia; they are on the opposite end of the scale; they are bold. Boldness comes as one develops a strong confidence in something. The righteous have placed their confidence in God and in His Word. They do not cower to speak truth; neither do they fear that God’s judgment is waiting for them behind every wall. They rest in the promises of God, and live in accordance to them. Where do you find yourself in Proverbs 28:1?
