This verse should stir our energies in praying for the leaders and elections of our nation. Wickedness and transgression, leads to the instability and overthrow of a nation. However, a man of understanding and knowledge can bring stability and strength to a nation. As we enter another election season for president of the United States, may this verse guide our actions and prayers. It is easy to get swept away with a candidate, which can lead to crushed hopes. On the other hand, maybe you’ve become cynical about political leaders as a whole, which leads to an apathetic attitude toward men and their ability to do anything good in the political arena. Wherever you find yourself this morning, our prayer ought to be that God would raise up a man with understanding and knowledge, that our nation may be prolonged, to the glory of God.
