When I hear it said, “Such and such do not believe the doctrines of sovereign grace and substitution, but they love the Lord and are saved,” I wonder and ask, “What then was the Bible written for?” Is it no infallible expression of the mind of GOD? Is it no standard of Truth? Are we to believe what appeals to us and deny the rest? God forbid! God’s Word declares the oneness of Truth and condemns every departure from the Truth as a direct attack on God Himself! Do not tell me that a man’s heart is right with God when his head contains a creed of error and denies the Person and Work of the Redeemer. – Horatius Bonar

Lay the foundation of your hope in Jesus Christ. Begin with Christ and end with Christ. As Christ Jesus becomes more to you, self will grow less and less. If your faith puffs you up, it is not the faith of Christ. God will help us when we are weak. He will bless us as long as we confess our dependence upon His blessing. He will fill us when we are empty. He will feed us when we are hungry. He will be our all when we are nothing. He will forgive us when we are guilty. But the moment we begin to boast in ourselves and feel sufficient, we will be left to learn, in no uncertain terms, that we are naked, poor, blind, and miserable. Terrible will be the day when proud rebels discover, too late, the dust and ashes of human merit. -- Copied

The man or woman who really has everything is the man or woman who has Him who is and has everything! “Christ is ALL..” -- Pastor Gary Shepard
ALL THE PROMISES OF GOD
“For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” (2 Corinthians 1:20)
What a wonderful and solid assurance we who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ have of our complete salvation and all the promises of grace and blessings in and by Him! None of these promises are conditioned upon us, therefore, we cannot help but have them and enjoy the blessings of these promises. We are truly blessed “with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Eph. 1:3). How is this possible? It is only possible because Jesus Christ, the Lord our Righteousness, is our Surety. These are the promises of Almighty God of all grace here and all glory hereafter for His people, the children of promise, based on the merits of Christ’s obedience unto death, His righteousness imputed and received by God-given faith. It is all sure and certain in Christ Jesus!
Are we as recipients of these free and gracious promises not required to do anything the way of faith and obedience? Of course we are required to do many, many things, but not by power of law seeking to earn these promises by establishing our own righteousness by works. We who have received these promises in Christ are under obligation of grace, love, and gratitude to the Lord. This is the motivation by which God the Holy Spirit inspires us – “Now He which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts” (2 Cor. 1:21-22). By the power of God’s grace through the Holy Spirit Who imparts spiritual life, knowledge, faith, repentance, and love, we are to believe and rest in Jesus Christ for all salvation. We are to follow Him, NOT to earn these promises, but out of love, grace, and gratitude to Him Who has freely given us all these promises in and by the Lord Jesus Christ. Hereby we who are saved by His grace enjoy the blessings of all these promises of grace. Our enjoyment of them comes by keeping our eyes, our hearts, upon Jesus Christ our Surety and our Lord. – Pastor Bill Parker
