Proverbs 30:1 The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, even the prophecy: the man spake unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal. Notice it says the Prophecy. In this chapter is a few good prophecies of what we are seeing in our day and time. We know evil was around then but not to the proportion it is today. They are waxing worse and worse.
I. Proverbs 30:11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
A) I was in Wal-Mart some time back and heard a small child telling his mother what she could and couldn't buy. It was hard to listen to. The belt is good when used correctly and this is biblical. Proverbs 19:18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying. How do you expect your child to respect Heavenly authority when they will not even obey earthly authority?
B) We know in the last days that children will be running things and they will send this world down the drain. Isaiah 3:12 As for my people, children are their oppressors. With all these gangs we see today this verse is being realized more and more. Children need structure and discipline. They don't bless their father and mother and they inherit the wind. Proverbs 11:29 He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind:
II. Proverbs 30:12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
A) They are pure in their own eyes because they don't believe it's the blood of Jesus Christ that cleanses from all sin. They have grown up watching Oprah Sinfree and believe that there are many ways to Heaven. The Lord Jesus said He is The Way. There is only one way to Heaven and if you want to go to hell you don't have to do anything but stand still, this earth is spinning against the Sun (Mal 4:2) all day long.
III. Proverbs 30:13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
A) This is the eye generation. They have i phones, i pads, Facebook, my fy, etc. This generation has eye trouble. Satan said "I will," five times before his haughty spirit experienced his fall and this generation with all their lofty eyes will fall too.
VI. Proverbs 30:14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.
A) This generation devours iniquity then devours others. They feed on foolishness and devour men just like their father the devil ( 1 Pt 5:8).
The conclusion is listed for us. We are to fight the good fight of faith (1 Tim 6:12) and occupy till He comes. Remember that this generation needs the Lord Jesus just like all the ones before it. They are looking for acceptance and will not be satisfied with a counterfeit of ( Eph 1:6). No matter how bad this generation gets we need to witness and try to lead them to The Lord Jesus Christ. Our Lord witnessed to a generation that killed Him and we might have to do the same thing John 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you.
