THE SAVIOR IS THE JUDGE
“For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son” (John 5:22).
It thrills my soul to think that God the Father has committed all judgment unto His Son. The believer has no reason to fear the day of judgment because Christ our Savior will be the judge. Who knows better than Christ that the sins of His people have already been punished with death? The judge is the substitute who already died for our sins and rose again for our justification. There is no doubt He will rule that His people are not guilty and altogether righteous.
I commend you to God” (Acts 20:32)
What better instruction could any minister give to his congregation? Don’t look to the law; it will only serve to condemn you. Don’t look to religious ceremony; it will only serve to befuddle you. Don’t look to yourself; it will only serve to make you self-righteous. Don’t even look to the preacher; he is a sinner and needs grace just like you. Look to the Lord Jesus Christ to provide all things in salvation. He is made to the believer wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption (I Corinthians 1:30). Keep looking always to Him (Hebrews 12:1-2, Isaiah 45:22).

The Friend of God James 2:23
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
I don’t suppose there would be a title more desirous of a believer than to be called “the Friend of God.” What can a man do that would make him worthy of such a title? NOTHING! Paul wrote, “So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy?” We can never be the “Friend of God” by anything that we do. No, it is not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us. (Titus 3:5)
What did Abraham do to be called the Friend of God? He believed God. That is how he received both his righteousness and God’s friendship. The elect child of God may not know much, but they have been made to know WHOM they have believed and they are PERSUADED that He (God) is able to keep their very soul, which they have committed unto Him. By God’s free and sovereign grace in Christ, the chosen sinner believes God, just as Abraham did, and it is counted unto them for righteousness and they too are called the Friend of God!

Trusting God
Most of us don’t know God well enough to trust him. Are you persuaded that God has complete control in reference to the things which excite our anxiety? Are you persuaded that he will use this control in the best way as far as we are concerned? If I am to cast my cares on him, I must know him to be my Father; I must know him to be my Friend; I must know him to be my Protector, my Shepherd, my Guide, my Righteousness, and my Salvation.
I must believe his testimony that he loves me for Christ's sake. — “He careth for you.” It's a small thing for God to care for us. He provides for the cattle on a thousand hills, all the wild beasts, an army of birds, fish, and insects. Your needs and mine are scarcely a crumb from God's table. If he says, "I will care for you," then he will.
