At times I and others get accused of making the gospel to complex and I have examined my message to be sure I am not over complicating things and I think at times I have. However, when people hear the message of man's total depravity and the Lordship of Jesus Christ they are generally repelled. But why? Is it because they can't understand the message or is it because they love their sin and hate the reality of Christ's Lordship. I think The Lord answered that question for us in John3:18-19. The message is simple ie. man is totally corrupt and can do absolutely nothing to save himself and Jesus Christ is God and salvation can only be found in him. That is not hard to understand it's just hard to believe, actually it's impossible to believe. Until someone is regenerate they cannot and will not believe, but they cannot because they will not. An unregenerate man can understand sin and the gospel but he cannot embrace it because he hates God and loves himself. Please do not dumb down the gospel as so many have in our day. Those who make it easy will be responsible for the souls they are making two fold children of hell. This is not a game, read your Bible, the message of our Lord and the apostles was impossible to believe and let our message be the same, but with that hard message must come a weeping heart. Paul told the Corinthians that he ceased not to weep for then day and night for 3 yrs. so I need a hard message and a weeping heart.
