Yesterday, we discussed fear as an obstacle to speaking truth. Today we see that most of our fears are illegitimate. Truth is refreshing not just to the speaker but also to the recipient. The world is always made better by truth. The car mechanic, the doctor, the carpenter, the pastor…the list continues endlessly for which truth is the most valuable attribute. The bank that provides the loan for the family that realistically cannot afford the house eventually becomes the enemy, while the bank that initially disappoints with cold, hard facts eventually becomes the trusted blessing. The Old Testament prophets who would not confront evil eventually drove Israel to its death. Today, you will have the opportunity to both speak and receive truth. As you speak, speak from a heart of true love which will always speak truth. As you receive, receive with a heart of wisdom, “kissing the lips” of those who bless you through truth.”
