Today I want to ttalk about the Providence of God. The Providence of God is His rule over His creation. God is in control of all the events which happen on this earth. I have an 18 year old son who will be attending college next year. I have been praying that God would teach him that he can seek the Lord, and find the Lord's will for His life.
This past week, my son had an interview for a program he wants to be a part of. Also, we have been waiting to hear about a particular scholarship which would give him a full ride to the college of his dreams. I told my son to pray to seek God's will. He said he has. My son believes it is God's will for him to attend this college. I said then if it is God's will, God will work it out for him to attend.
When we were on our way home from the interview last week, I tried to teach my son about God's Providence. Long story short, I told him if it is God's will for you to attend this school, He will work it our\t whether you receive the scholarship that you are waiting to hear from or not.
The next day, we receive a call from the school. I had communicated with a contact which I have at the school. This contact had help my daughter receive a scholarship. This person told me they were offering my son a scholarship. This scholarship along with others which he had already received would give him full ride to the school of his dreams. This was not the scholarship which we thought we would receive. I had only discussed the need for a scholarship with the contact earlier in the week.
This contact told me that when she received my email, she had just found out the school was receiving extra funds from a donor. It just so happened that my son was a perfect candidate for the scholarship for which they were receiving funds. Is this coincidence? No, this is the Providence of God.
I was able to talk to my son about his trust in the Lord. I was able to teach him how God's Providence is in control of all the events of our lives. Now, I am able to share this with you. My prayer is that God will get the glory for providing this scholarship for my son. It is also my prayer that you may learn a little about God's Providence. Then, that you will seek God's will and walk in it. God is good. He is worthy to be praised and followed.
