David is facing an enemy of giant proportions. When Saul questions David concerning his ability to fight Goliath, David tells of God's past deliverance. God delivered a bear and lion into the hand of David. He can deliver Goliath into David's hand also.

In life we will face difficult challenges. Remember those past victories which God has given you. Let them build courage in you as you face newer and greater challenges.

David also told Saul, "the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord's."

Please keep this in mind, when we are walking by faith, the Lord does not work in the way we think He will. It is amazing to me to see the many different ways in which God works. When we put our faith in Him, it seems He never delivers in a way which we could have imagined.

Who would have thought that God would deliver Goliath into the hands of Israel through a young man with a sling in his hand. This was accomplished because the young man understood the battle was the Lord's. He understood God delivered in His way and not the way of man.
