Mercy, Not Sacrifice
"I'll have mercy on whom I'll have mercy," Said the Lord God who shelters all His sheep. He hides them in the Rock for His glory. In Jesus Christ, the Anointed, He keeps.
He will have mercy and not sacrifice; But go, O man, and learn what that meaneth. If we do know no man could save his life, Then we may learn what the gospel sayeth.
What could a man give to save his own soul When he has nothing before God above? God will have mercy; 'tis in His control. He will have compassion for those He loves.
I'm a sinner in need of God's mercy. I have nothing. My All in All is He! My only hope is 'to Christ I must flee'. If He will, He will show mercy to me.

Nobody Knows
It is natural for people to make plans for a day, for a week, sometimes even several months in advance. But it is also natural for God’s people to say; "if it is God will" we will do such an such. For they all know by experience "Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." (Prov.27:1) Countless numbers of people get up and start their day not knowing before the day is over that they will be in a car accident, a son or daughter will be taken away, a husband or wife will go to the Doctor and hear the news you have a terminal disease. No one gets out of bed expecting that this will be a day of trouble or tragedy, or that they will receive a call from someone with the awful news of the death of their flesh and blood. Job when he went to worship God and offer sacrifice for his children did not know that in a short time he would lose all he possessed but his own soul. "There was a day," (Job 1:13). But I can tell you what we can know. We can know God, who knows all things and orders all things for our good and his glory. We by His Grace can "be strong in faith giving glory to God". We can do as Job who; " fell down upon the ground and worshipped, and said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. in all this JOB sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. (Job 1:20-22) For those of you who don’t Know The Lord, how do you deal with life? Do you go through life confused, bitter, and angry, dealing with questions you can’t answer? Do you go through life with a flippant attitude, or believing you have the strength to deal with anything? As for me and I know I speak for God’s people , I wouldn’t want to face a moment without the Lord for ten thousand worlds like this. "we don’t know what a day may bring forth", but we do know who brings it forth. - Pastor THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD
"The righteousness of God," i.e., a righteousness of God's completing, a righteousness of God's bestowing, a righteousness that God gives unto and puts upon all them that believe, a righteousness that stands in the works of Christ and that is imputed both by the grace and justice of God. This righteousness by which we stand just before God, from the curse, was performed long ago by the person of Christ. --John Bunyan ~~~~ O ~~~~
A TRUE RIGHTEOUSNESS IN HEAVEN
One day, as I was passing into the field, suddenly this sentence fell upon my soul: ‘Thy righteousness is in heaven.’ And I thought that I could see Jesus Christ at God’s right hand. Yes, there indeed was my righteousness, so that wherever I was, or whatever I was doing, God could not say about me that I did not have righteousness, for it was standing there before Him. I also saw that it was not my good feelings that made my righteousness better, and that my bad feelings did not make my righteousness worse, for my righteousness was Jesus Christ Himself, ‘the same yesterday, and today, and forever,’ Hebrews 13:8. Now, indeed, the chains fell off my legs, and I was loosened from my afflictions and irons. My temptations also fled away so that from that time forward those dreadful Scriptures terrified me no more. Now I went home rejoicing because of the grace and love of God, and went to my Bible to look up where the verse was found that said, ‘Thy righteousness is in heaven.’ But I could not find it. And so my heart began to sink again, until suddenly, there came to my remembrance I Corinthians 1:30, ‘Who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification and redemption.’ From this, I saw that the other sentence was also true. --John Bunyan |
