Have you repented of your good deeds? This may sound like a funny question but I would think that a Biblical understanding of sin will lead us to ask it. I actually stole this question from my dad. My dad has a funny way of asking questions at times but I think is effective because it causes people to think. We often misjudge sin because we are not evaluating the motive. The BIble clearly teaches us that the primary part of sin is motive. The natural man views himself as being good intentioned as he may fall into bad things. However the Bible teaches the opposite: it says that our hearts are deceitful and despartly wicked above all things. Can you believe that your heart is wicked above ALL things. Any unregenerate man can be sorry for the bad things he has done but it takes a work of thenHoly Spirit for a man to see is evil heart and that all of intentions are only hatred toward God. Men are damned because they do not think they have done anything to deserve God's judgement or that they are "good people". It is the supposed good thing that they have done that continues to lead them down that road of deception that will ultimately end up in hell. So I ask you: "Have you repented of your good deeds?"
