Our annual Vacation Bible School for ages 3 through high school will held here at the church June 11-13 from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Please pray for our teachers as they prepare and that the Lord would prepare the hearts of our children to learn of Him.
The word ‘uttermost’ is a comforting description of the people Christ came to save. Christ is able to save the most sinful, most vile, most wicked, most impossible, most helpless, most useless, most distant, most perverted, most unbelieving, and most worthy of hell! Christ has the power, the will, and the right to rescue every sinner who’s utterly lost. In fact, He came to save only those who are LOST! Are you a lost cause? Are you the most wicked and unworthy of God’s mercy? Are you so perverted and corrupt that you suppose Christ cannot save you because you’re too far gone? Will you hear the word of God? “He is ABLE also to SAVE them to the UTTERMOST that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”He intercedes for those who come to God by Him. If you come to God by Him, it is because He has always interceded for you, long before you knew His blessed name.

Don’t tell me that a man preaches the Gospel if the most conspicuous figure in his sermon is not Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

TRUE WORSHIP
True heart worship can only flow from an understanding that we are helpless before Almighty God. True heart worship will only happen when we realize that we are completely dependent on God to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves and that we have no ability to make God do anything for us. True worship does not happen because God does anything for us. God is worshipped for who He is, not for what He has done for us. We do thank God for what He has done for us, but there is a difference between worship and thanksgiving.
The first time the word worship is used in scripture is when Abraham was taking his son Isaac to the top of the mountain where Abraham was sure he would kill and sacrifice his son as a burnt offering to God. As they started up the mountain Abraham said, “I and the lad will go yonder and worship” (Gen. 22:5). Abraham said he would worship BEFORE he knew that God would spare Isaac. The leper in Matthew 8 came and worshipped the Lord BEFORE he knew that the Lord would heal him (Matt 8:2). The man possessed with the legion of devils in Mark 8 came and worshipped the Lord BEFORE the Lord cast out the legion (Mark 5:6). The Canaanite woman whose daughter was grievously vexed with a devil worshipped the Lord after the Lord seemed to indicate that He would not heal her daughter. Our Lord said “I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.” (Matt 15:24-25).
True heart worship must flow from a sense of who God is and who we are. We will never worship until we realize that we are helpless before God and whatever He does with us is right and just.
Quotes from Charles Spurgeon
Every generation needs regeneration.
It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes us happy.
He that deserves nothing should be content with anything.
A lie travels around the world, while Truth is putting on her boots.
Nobody ever outgrows scripture, the Book widens and deepens with our years.
