It is hard to receive correction isn’t it? Most of us would have no problem agreeing with the statement that we need to change in general areas of our lives. However, when God, in His grace, uses someone to address specific areas in which change is needed, we can have a difficult time receiving correction. It is difficult to keep the important part of the previous statement in mind isn’t it? It is a GRACE of God to be confronted by another individual. It is God, in His mercy, who sends people into our lives to confront us with that which we would choose to ignore, if left to ourselves. This should change the way we interpret the many corrective interactions we have with our spouses, parents, or any other individual that God would use in the process of our sanctification. We should remind ourselves regularly, that a rejection of reproof, is a rejection of God’s grace. May we be thankful for the grace of God, which will not leave us alone until he has completed the work that was initiated in us at our conversion.
