But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more. My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof. I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only. O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come. Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee! – Psalm 71:14-19 THERE WILL BE NO WEDNESDAY SERVICE THIS WEEK ON OCT 9TH.

GRACE OR LAW? YOU CHOOSE
Human nature desires to be saved by our obedience to the law. God’s Word says salvation must be by grace (Eph 2:5 and 8). Would you rather be saved by God’s grace or by your obedience to the law? Consider this:
The law tells us what we must do. Grace tells us what Christ has done.
The law requires you to be righteous. Grace makes a sinner righteous.
The law curses. Grace redeems from the curse of the law.
The law brings condemnation. Grace brings salvation.
The law ministers to death. Grace ministers to life.
The law produces fear. Grace produces a good hope.
The law tells us to consider ourselves. Grace tells us to consider Christ.
The law tells us that God is a consuming fire. Grace tells us that God is merciful.
The law tells us that we are unable and unwilling to keep the law. Grace tells us what God is both willing and able to do for His people in Christ.
Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? (Gal 4:21) If you would be saved, quit your relationship with the law and flee to Christ. By the grace of God, salvation is in Christ!
FOR THIS IS RIGHT
When Paul exhorts children to obey their parents in the Lord, he gives this reason for why they should do it, “For this is right” (Eph 6:1). This is the right motive behind actions – to do something because it is right. There are things that are wrong. There are things that are right. It is right to believe the Truth. To not do so is wrong! It is right to rely upon Christ only for salvation. To not do so is wrong! It is right to love Christ. It is right to love His people. It is right to love our enemies. To fail to do so is wrong! We will never go wrong by doing that which is right. So simple. So true.
Pastor Todd Nibert
Christ is not valued nor His grace appreciated until men have a genuine knowledge of their misery, helplessness, and lost condition because of sin. When sin is sin indeed, then grace is grace indeed, and Christ is Christ indeed. If men have a superficial sense of sin, they have a superficial faith in Christ.
