Isn’t it amazing to think that we could be God’s delight? This passage tells us that those who speak truth are a pleasure to God. Lying can be difficult for several reasons. First of all, it is easy to simply get in the habit of telling lies. You can have a conversation with someone, and before you know it, almost everything you said was tainted with exaggeration, or completely untrue. Another reason that we might be tempted to lie, is when the truth is too uncomfortable for us to share. So, what is the underlying motive for our lies? Pride.
