We have a Bible Conference scheduled here on October 11-13. The speakers are yet to be finalized, but the Lord willing, there will be 2 speakers each day. I hope you will be in much prayer about these services; that our Lord may be honored and glorified, and His people blessed by the preaching of God’s Word.
TWO COMMON ERRORS
There are two common errors that people frequently believe today. The first is that “we are all worshipping the same God, just in different ways”. Nothing could be further from the truth. The holy scripture is plain that there is one God and they that worship Him must worship Him one way: in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). The way of true worship is the way the Holy Spirit brings every true worshipper – in the Lord Jesus Christ. God can only be worshipped in Christ, for Christ is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Any other way of worship is idolatry.
The second common error the world believes today is “if we do our best, everything will turn out alright in the end”. Again, that cannot be further from the truth. Salvation is not based on the best a sinner can do. Cain (who brought the best fruits he could grow) and the rich young ruler (who brought the best obedience a sinner can produce) can both testify that man’s best is not good enough to save.
Thank God that salvation is not based on the best men can do. Salvation is the best that the God-Man could produce. My friend, that salvation is a salvation that saves sinners to the uttermost! Salvation in Christ will cause us to worship God in spirit and in truth.

THE FOUNDATION OF GOD STANDS SURE
I am sure that people in Timothy’s day worried about political unrest and the direction of their generation away from God much like people do today. They suffered trial, persecution, and false prophets flourishing in their lies and deceit, just like we do today. Yet, the apostle Paul wrote these words of encouragement to them, “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His.” (II Tim 2:19)
It is so comforting to know that Christ is “never the less”. Our world has gone to hell in a hand basket, but Christ is never less than the problems sin has caused in the world. The world seems like a shaky place to us, but the foundation of God always has, and always will stand firm. Christ is the foundation, the chief cornerstone, upon which the whole church of God is built. That foundation stands immovably sure, unaffected by false prophets and their heresies. Men may be swayed by their damnable heresies, but Christ will never be moved. Hence, the church is safe and secure because she is built on Christ.
Every member of that church has God’s seal (His royal stamp) upon their hearts, so they cannot be pulled away from Christ by false prophets (Matt 24:24). A believer is sealed by God’s knowledge of us. God has always known His people. God foreknew them and chose them in Christ before the foundation of the world. God knew them before He formed them in the belly. God knows every step they take in their pilgrimage here below because He has ordered their steps for His glory and their good. And thanks be to God, He will know His people in the day of judgment when He says unto them “Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” (Matt 25:34) Then they will KNOW the foundation of God standeth sure.
This seal also has a second side. God will never leave His people and the flip side of that seal is that God’s elect will never leave Him. Paul continues in verse 19, “And Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” No matter the errors of doctrine and conduct that surround us, no matter how many ravening wolves come to us in sheep’s clothing, God’s elect will never leave Christ to follow their pernicious ways, because they are sealed by God’s knowledge of them.
