"As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death." Prov. 11:19
Isn’t God merciful to continually warn us of the consequences of evil? It would be merciful enough for God to warn us once, but scripture is full of warnings and pleadings for us to walk in righteousness and flee evil. With this in mind, we have to ask ourselves why God, who is not lacking in His ability to communicate, would repeat these warnings again and again. Could it be our unwillingness to believe that what He is saying is actually true? How do you respond to a verse like Proverbs 11:19? Do you acknowledge that this indeed is a true principle? Do you instantly begin thinking of someone else that really needs to hear this? God would have us take a warning like this and search our own hearts with intentions of confession and repentance.
