The deceitfulness that is described in this verse applies to the one who is working. We could say that the wicked are fooling themselves if they think that they will receive anything good from their wicked deeds. I suppose that most people live their lives believing that things will end up good for them. This is a very deceptive thought. Those who have given themselves over to ungodly actions will reap what they have sown. However, those who sow righteousness have a sure reward. What are you preoccupied with today? Are you living according to righteousness or the desires of your carnal nature? You can be sure that you will reap what you sow.
