For the local area Clapham βWe had the opportunity of sharing the good news about Jesus with lots of people over the holiday period. A number are still coming to church. We praise God that Sarah and John have taken on the work with our 15 + group. This is a major answer to our prayers. Our prayer list includes; planning permission, a treasurer and pastor. Any donations gratefully received???? Our new yearβs resolution is to be somewhat more consistent and fervent in prayer. We have quite a group of people attending church who have not as yet responded to the gospel. Problems included young people suffering from depression and older people seizing up - including the pastor and his wife. However we praise God for his goodness and patience with us all.β
For the wider area GBNews - Praise Report about Czech and Slovak ministry - Pavel Steiger
The team from Soar Mission based in Alaska was returning from a traditional New Year's tour to Russian orphanages and on its way back stopped once again in Prague. The team of about twenty people of all ages arrived from Russia physically exhausted nevertheless spiritually changed. The "patron" of HCJB Czech ministries Dub Page was part of the team. Dub was a pilot during the World War II, and continues to serve the Lord even in harsh Russian winter conditions. His on going ministry description is to be available. He was sharing with us how he enjoys attending camps for kids as a camp grandpa. Children are very attached to him and open their hearts to the Gospel. PRAISES: A Major event for February was three days of meetings in Prague with Eric Moore, the World Radio director of the HCJB Euro Asia region. Together we took care of numerous mission and legal related issues as part of preparing for the arrival of new workers. Another important part of the meeting was brainstorming about the situation with the Slovak studio. We are working on agreement that our Prague office will carry the rental cost for the studio in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, and HCJB World Radio will help to equip the studio. We praise the Lord that Slovak programs broadcast by Radio Lumen are now part of satellite and Internet broadcasting on Radio 7, Slovakia.
Bible Society building damaged in Ramallah Christians in Gaza are asking for prayer. Miscommunication, caused by a language barrier, resulted in incorrectly reporting that the Palestine Bible Society building in Gaza was blown up. E3 Partners Tom Doyle reports "It was another one in the West Bank called the Living Stones, in a place called Beir Zeit, and that one was fire bombed. The one in Gaza was threatened to be bombed on the 28th or afterwards and that threat is very much still alive." According to Doyle, despite the increase threats and hostilities, believers are ready to work. "Instead of going and hiding they are serving Christ with a passion and reaching out to people. They are certainly brothers and sisters that we can be very proud of in their courageous stand for Christ."

Reminder from last week - Pastor John McIllmurray (Bexleyheath) writes that he has provisionally arranged a days seminar (@6hours) for Sat 23rd September run by βWalk Thru the Bible ministriesβ The cost would be Β£12 which includes a helpful study book. βIt is a valuable course intended for all who are interested in grasping the chronology of the Old and New Testaments. β it is fun but not irreverently so.β Please let Paul know this week if you are interested or need further information.
