Prayer for the church
Please pray for the on going weekly activities that God may bless each.

Pray for adequate helpers for "Mums and Tots" group.
Continue to pray for the outreach activities of the church once the building work has been completed.
Please continue to pray for the young people who went to camp.
For the local area Beech Hill The Church correspondent writes: "Give thanks for our new pastor. Pray for the growth of our 'Explorers' youth group and for good contacts on a new housing development."
Bromley The Church correspondent writes: "May we 'today' appreciate the greatness of God, submit to His word, worship Him appropriately and encourage one another to serve Him throughout the week." Prayer is also asked for Christian witness at a local 'Boot Fair'.
For the wider area The Grace World View - Gabon
Gabon is not dominated by any one religious group. Several groups are vying for influence. The land is relatively prosperous economically, but most of the people are bankrupt spiritually.
Gabon is located on the Atlantic coast of western Africa. It borders on Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, and the Republic of the Congo. Most of the land is dense tropical rain forest and is sparsely populated.
Approximately 1.4 million people live in Gabon. The country has always been thinly populated, but AIDS has further cut population growth. The people are diverse with many different ethnic and tribal groupings.
Gabon is blessed with excellent natural resources. As a result, it is among the wealthiest of African nations. The average income is four times that of other countries in the region, but is still low by western standards.
Gabon was a French colony until 1960. Since independence, Gabon has had only 2 leaders. In the early 1990s the country adopted a new constitution which established a multi-party republic, but there is so much division that the dominant party remains largely unchallenged.
Gabon is something of a religious battleground with many different groups fighting for the minds and hearts of the people. Traditional African religions, such as spiritism and voodooism, are still influential. Islam has been steadily growing in numbers and influence. The Roman Catholic Church, although now in decline, is still prominent as most adults in Gabon were baptized Catholics.
Evangelicals grew rapidly in number after independence, and after a brief lull, grown has begun again. Liberal theology has filtered into many evangelical churches over time and diluted the message. Pray for the evangelical churches that clearly preach the gospel and those that have drifted away.
Many people group are unreached with the gospel or are nearly so. The opportunities outnumber the workers. Pray that the Lord would raise up more workers for the harvest field. Bible translation has not been undertaken in earnest. Pray that the needs may be properly assessed and met.
