Thursday evening we reminded ourselves that Christ taught us to prayer βOur Father β give usβ β in our private prayer life! This reminds us that everyday we, as a church, are engaged in united prayer for the Lordβs work. The prayer points can help us all in that daily fellowship of prayer.
Prayer for the church Pray for Mark Roper's father after his diagnosis of cancer and D.V.T.
Continue to pray for the planning of outreach activities of the church once the building work has been completed.
Please pray for Richard Malpas & his family (previous site manager of Bedonwell Junior) on Thursday as he buries his 2 children tragically killed in a car crash.
Please pray for Jonathan at university as they are engaged in outreach this week to the new students.
Please pray for Philip as he commences teacher training, and that the Lord will continue to provide for the family.
Please pray for the on going weekly activities that God may bless each.
Please pray that as invitations are sent out for our Evangelistic video evening that they will be well received.
For the local area Covent Garden Church 'Praise God for new workers, Ben and Bethan Thomas, and for the many evangelistic opportunities. Continue to pray for the children's work and for those on the fringe.'
For the wider area Update from Katrina relief among Reformed Baptist Churches In our brief experience as an association of churches, we have never had the opportunity to aid one another that is set before us now. People in our churches from Pennsylvania to California, and from Florida to Washington State have expressed their interest in helping our brothers and sisters in the Gulf states. International members and friends are also sending assistance.
Presently, everyone in the affected area is assessing damage/needs. Here is what we know:
Sovereign Grace Fellowship, Slidell LA - Pastors Eddie Exposito and Charles Busby are both in or enroute to Slidell this week One family is relocating to Toronto. Pastor Eddie reminds us how hard it is for those who remain to say goodbye to people they love. Pastor Dennis Gundersen from Tulsa is bringing in a crew of men. They will be better able to assess their church building and their homes. From the water and the heat, some have already found mold.in addition to the water damage. Carpeting, sheet rock, furniture and appliances all have to be torn out and replaced. Most people in the area do not have flood insurance. One family reports that all of their clothes are ruined and their house will never be livable again.
Audubon Drive Bible Church, Laurel, MS needs carpenters to repair roofs of church members and individuals/work teams to assist with clean-up of trees, debris, etc. Also, Pastor Jerry Marcellino believes that the roof on their church building will need to be completely replaced because of water damage.
Crossroads Baptist Church, Wiggins, MS needs a crew of roofers to totally replace the shingles on the church building. We understand the shingles are being purchased and shipped by a member of a church in Texas.
The Bible Church of Little Rock, AR reports that they have many refugees now in Arkansas and more specifically Little Rock who are beginning to come to their church seeking assistance. They are also assisting a Southern Baptist church camp near Little Rock which has received about 50 refugees from Louisiana thus far, and is expecting 100 more this week.
Please continue praying for all of these congregations and their pastors that recovery may be swift and ministry strong to the glory of God!

Nancyβs funeral Margaret Bruce & family would like to thank everyone for their love and prayers during the past weeks . Also thank you to everyone who helped to make Monday such a memorable occasion and thank you to those who helped with the catering.
Mums and Tots - (A personal plea - Paul) There are @ 25 mums now registered. If this work is to be really effective for the gospel I believe it needs to be a team ministry. We are blessed with several gifted workers among the "tots". However, I would urge all members to prayerfully consider whether they can offer regular support among the mums. This doesnβt have to be every week, but a commitment to once every 2 or 3 weeks would enhance this ministry. It could mean that "befrienders" could be linked to 4 or 5 mums so that real links and friendships could be built up. Please chat with Karen or Elizabeth if you think you could come. Early planning is now underway for the new session when the building work is completed.
