A Thought From the Word
“Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into Thy lips: therefore God hath blessed Thee forever.” Psalm 45:2
These majestic words are spoken to Jesus Christ. The old usage of the word fair has the meaning of beautiful . The writer is captivated by the beauty and majesty of the Savior. He sees Christ as more beautiful, more valuable than anything or anyone else. Saints throughout the ages have been moved in their hearts by Christ. Here is one who is holy, yet speaks words of grace. He is one like no one else—His words have more power, His mercy heals broken hearts, His wisdom is perfect, His greatness is unsearchable.
Is He beautiful to you? To be brutally honest, if we cannot in our hearts echo the words of the Psalmist, we
The words of this chorus carry deep, yet simple truth:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus;
Look full at His wonderful face;
And the things of the world,
Will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
