"Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: Thy blessing is upon Thy people. Selah" (Psalm 3:8). _______________________________________________________________________________________________ FOR US THE SAVIOR BLED TUNE TO "MY FAITH HAS FOUND..." CM/DOUBLE WORDS BY JIM BYRD 1) To save us from eternal death Christ suffered in our stead; The Son of God laid down His life, For us the Savior bled. For us He bore the wrath of God, The awful agony; To rescue us from guilt and shame, From sin to set us free. 2) For us Christ shed His precious blood, For us the judgment bore; The Lamb of God was sacrificed, To save us evermore. God's justice can demand no more, The law is satisfied; For us He was the Substitute, And we are justified. 3) The empty tomb of Christ proclaims, Redemption's work is done; The sins of all His chosen race, Were cancelled by God's Son. For us the Savior reigns above, Through Him all blessings flow; And soon for us the Lord shall come, Then to Him we shall go. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ THE SECURITY OF THE RIGHTEOUS If the Lord has brought you to believe on His Son, to trust Him alone for all of your righteousness, acceptance and salvation, you may rest assured that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). The prophet of the Lord says of the church of Christ Jesus, "And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken" (Isaiah 62:12). "For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved (preserved, kept safe) by His life" (Romans 5:10). It is written, "He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" Of the Savior we read, "Having loved His own which were in the world, He loved them to the end" (John 13:1). If the Lord sent His Son to die in your place when you were ungodly, you will never be forsaken because you are made the righteousness of God in Christ. If He cared for you when you were "dead in trespasses and in sins," do you think He will abandon you now that you are born from above? If the Lord was found of you when you sought Him not, will He hide Himself from you when you seek His face? If the Savior suffered divine vengeance in your stead when He bore your sins in His own body on the tree, do you imagine He will desert you and charge those sins back to your account? If God, in pure grace and with no consideration of your works, chose you unto salvation and wrote your name down in the Lamb's Book of Life before the world began, do you suppose that, due to your sinfulness, He will disown you and erase your name from the heavenly register? The Psalmist said, "The LORD will give grace and glory" (Psalm 84:11). He would never give grace but then withhold glory because grace is glory in the promise and glory is grace in its fulfillment. Grace is glory in the seed and glory is grace in full bloom. May God graciously give all who believe on the Name of the Son of God that sweet assurance of eternal acceptance in our Redeemer, "Who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: that, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 1:30-31). "And ye are complete in Him" (Colossians 2:10). - Pastor Byrd _______________________________________________________________________________________________ BLESS THE LORD! "All Thy works shall praise Thee, O LORD; and Thy saints shall bless Thee" (Psalm 145:10). "Bless" in this verse means more than merely praising the Lord; it signifies praising Him with love, delight, adoration and reverence. Those to whom the Savior has been revealed will bless the Lord. Let us bless Him today while we are in the company of other saints, worshiping His holy Name. May continual blessing be directed toward Him throughout the week for His mercies are new every morning and flow to us uninterrupted through Jesus Christ our Lord. Bless Him at night for the Father neither slumbers nor sleeps but watches over His children. Bless Him in the day for the Shepherd's goodness and mercy always follow us. Bless Him in times of sickness or health; bless Him in seasons of joy or sorrow for He works all things together for our good. If others refuse to praise His Name, let their negligence inspire us to bless Him more and more. If the sun, moon and stars praise Him, how much more must His people bless Him? Shall the hosts of heaven praise His name and His children keep silent? O what a debt of gratitude we owe Him. He chose us by His grace, redeemed us by His blood, called us by His Spirit, keeps us by His power, provides for us out of His abundance, gives us strength when we are weak, hears us when we pray and gives us grace in time of need. "Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name" (Psalm 103:1). - Pastor Byrd _______________________________________________________________________________________________ First Baptist Church 881 Van Dyke Road, P.O.
