Difficult Funeral Tomorrow
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2010

Hello from Kenya,

These last two weeks have been some of the roughest that we have had in Kenya. It has been one major issue after another that has required great effort, wisdom and help from God. As always God has provided the answers and necessary help at the right time.

Tomorrow I will be doing a funeral that will be very difficult for me. One of our pastors, Bible College graduates, and friends had his wife pass away suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday night. Pastor John Okello has a tremendous testimony, a man of strong character and has not been ashamed to stand for the Lord. His wife, Milka, was a great asset in the ministry and loved serving God side by side with her husband. They have five children ranging from age 16 to 1. Sunday night Milka went into premature labour, the baby died and soon after she died. Pastor Okello is understandably devastated but through it all he has shown remarkable maturity. We have cried and prayed with him and tried to encourage him but words have been difficult to find.

I will be leaving soon with my son, Timothy, Pastor Oloo and a few other pastors from the area and driving nearly to the border of Uganda to a small village where the burial will take place. Pastor Okello's family is steeped in ungodly cultural practices and many of these practices come out during funerals. He is determined to maintain his testimony, the testimony of his wife and most of all his Saviour. I have been given the privilege to preach this funeral but feel unworthy to do so. I ask for your prayers. Outside the few of us who will be traveling to the funeral, the vast majority will be unsaved. I have no doubt that Satanic forces will be evident. Our prayer partners have always made a difference when praying for specific needs and we ask that you again go to God on our behalf.

His for Kenya,
And the Regions Beyond,

Robert Mickey Jr.
