Dear Praying Friends:

A quick update on Liz. She is home, but not yet better. The urologist is gone for the weekend. He had told the covering doctor that if she was stable and OK, she could be discharged. She had been on gentamycin and amoxillin, but the gentamycin had to be stopped. Her iv's were also stopped, and nothing further would be done on the weekend. She was getting no sleep in the hospital. So she was sent home.

However, she had still nausea and later developed a shaking chill about 4 pm. She had had one yesterday. We were able to start her on Augmenten, which is a more powerful antibiotic for the weekend, and with some nausea medications, she seems a bit better. She still has some pain, and I expect that there is still a stone in the right ureter which is the main cause of her problems. We will go back to the urologist on Monday. She is a little better tonight, and Kim has come to stay and help out over the weekend.

Thanks so much for your prayers. Would you continue to pray that the medication will take hold and control the infection, and that ideally the stone, if it is still present as I suspect, will pass spontaneously this weekend?

Thanks so much for your prayers for Liz. One of our ladies said that she was glad that Kim was here, because Liz was my right arm. I told her that it was more like Liz was both arms :)
