A new senior pastor for the main church: After more than 20 years, all four churches now have Surinamers in senior leadership. We had a good service last Sunday morning installing Kalow Palata as the new senior pastor of the main church. I would estimate more than 300 in attendance. A number of his family attended. Anita Edeling gave a very interesting history of both the church and Br. Kalow. After I gave the charge, the pastors of the four churches came and laid on hands and prayed for Br. Kalow. He would much appreciate your prayers as he takes over this responsibility.

Serious problem at the main church: During this critical time, I guess that I should not be surprised that we have had a major problem at the main church which is requiring a great deal of our time and energy. We would covet your prayers for us at this difficult time.

Now that I have a more advisory role, I am hoping to be able to spend time helping Sunny Point move forward, particularly in the area of building a church. We have been very pleased at the development of the church, and hope to get them thoroughly involved not only in the building of the church building, but the church itself.

I am going to keep this note brief, and ask you to focus especially on prayer for the main church over this weekend.
