Call To Worship

In Thy name, O Lord, assembling
We, Thy people, now draw near
Teach us to rejoice with trembling
Speak and let thy servants hear.

Saviour, follow with Thy blessings
Truth delivered in Thy name
Thus the Word, Thy pow'r possessing
Shalt declare from whence it came.

Let Thy Word be food to nourish
Those whom Thou hast made Thine own
Let Thy people's graces flourish
And the glory Thine alone!

God of our salvation, hear us
Bless, O bless us ere we go
When we join the world, be near us
Keep us safe from ev'ry foe.

(Tune: "Jesus Calls Us")

Church Cleaning: Cecel and Sandy Thornbury________________________________________I remember well the story of a husband who had grieved his wife. I do not know what had happened, - some little awkward word or deed. He went out of the house. He had to fell timber that day, and he turned back and said, "Wife, I am very sorry. Let us part good friends. Give me a kiss." Alas, she turned away! All day long she sorrowed, for she loved him well, and she grieved to think that he was gone without that kiss of love. He never came back again alive. Four men brought him home a corpse. She would have given a thousand worlds if they had not parted so. Now, do not part with anybody that you love with any kind of tiffs or quarrellings. End all that, for death is near. If there is but a step between you and death - if the Judge is at the door - go and wind up your little difficulties. You that have family quarrels, wipe them out.
-- C.H. Spurgeon

The longer I live, the more I feel that if there was one thing left undone, if the devil were not conquered, sin not expiated, justice not satisfied, the law not honored and magnified, death not overcome, and every burden carried, I should not have a ray of hope. I see and feel now that if one hair breath is left for me to do to merit heaven, or bring as a plea before God, I am undone forever and ever.
- John Warburton

Let me tell you what Jesus has done for me.

He assumed my human nature so I could partake of His divine nature (John 1:1, 14; 2 Peter 1:4).
He became poor so I could become rich (2 Corinthians 8:9).
He was born of a woman so I could be born of God (Galatians 4:4; John 1:12f).
He became the Son of Man so I could become a son of God (Luke 19:10; Galatians 3:26).
He was born under the law of God so I could be free from the law of sin and death (Galatians 4:4; Romans 8:2).
He was made sin for me so I could be become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21).
He was condemned so I could be justified (Isaiah 53:11).
He endured God's wrath so I could enjoy God's grace (Isaiah 53:4f; Romans 5:12-21).
He died so I could live (Romans 5:8-10).
He suffered the hell I deserve so I could enjoy Him in heaven (Psalm 18:4f; John 17:24).
He saved me by His grace and gave me faith to believe in Him (Ephesians 2:8f).

He did this for all who believe in Him. Do you?
- Daniel E. Parks
________________________________________
Let us never diminish one aspect of our Savior's work to make another appear more glorious. All that Christ is made to us and all that He does for us is vital. We cannot be saved without His work for us; and we cannot be saved without His work in us. Both are vital.
- Pastor Don Fortner
