Greetings from South Bend, Indiana. For two weeks, we will be basing out of the mission house for Community Baptist Church, our home church. We are commuting about 45 minutes to New Paris, Indiana, where I am teaching our first block course in missions at Indiana Fundamental Bible College. It seems to be going pretty well. I think that the students are receiving a larger dose of material than they had anticipated. We were surprised to have 23 students. Pray for us as I modify the materials and that we will remain organized and get everything done.
Last week, we had very good services at Heritage Baptist Church in Palmyra, New York with Pastor Tim Young and an evening service at Southeast Bible Baptist Church in Pittsford, New York. We had a most enjoyable time with our friends the Van Hooydonks, who spoiled us with treats which were still in my diet as well as time of fellowship. Monday we had a long 540 mile drive back to South Bend, which took a long time but went well.
All the news we have from Suriname indicates that things are going well at this time. Even our German Shepherd guard dog is recovering from deer worms. After a number dropped out after spraying with medication, David Champlin came and removed another ten or so, and now the wounds are closing.
Special prayer requests:
A pastor friend is experiencing what I would consider a direct satanic attack on his family. It seems that when satan cannot reach the pastor directly, and he is doing a work for the Lord, he attacks where he can within the family. We would greatly appreciate your joining us in prayer that the devil would be defeated and the Lord would be glorified.
Tuesday we had an early birthday celebration for my wife at our daughter's home. We had a very nice meal, and a nice time. We also picked up a box of three weeks mail, including some computer materials and important letters, but when we arrived back at our base, we could not find it. We drove first to teach my class, but it is not there. Our daughter searched her home, but saw nothing, and is certain that we took it to the car. It is hard to picture someone stealing it during the brief time that I unloaded our car to teach, making two trips - but it has disappeared. The Lord knows what happened, but we certainly don't. Could you pray for us to locate the things?
Ongoing prayer requests:
Safety and strength for the travel and teaching
Our spiritual growth
Health and strength for the daily tasks
Being a blessing everywhere we go
Teaching materials to challenge the students
God to raise up workers - both for the USA and foreign fields.
