ONLY TWO KINDS OF PEOPLE Todd Nibert is pastor of Todd's Road Grace Church, Lexington, Ky. There are only two kinds of people in the world--the righteous and the wicked. Interestingly, the righteous believe themselves to be wicked. That is why they need the Gospel. The wicked believe themselves to be righteous. That is why they do not need the Gospel.
FOR WHOM DO YOU SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES? Do you search the scriptures for yourself? That is, do you search the scripture to find deeds for you to perform to guarantee yourself eternal life? Or do you search the scriptures to behold Christ who is Life eternal? The Lord Jesus said to some who trusted in their deeds, John 5: 39: Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40: And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
Christ is the Seed of Woman (Gen 3: 15.)
Christ is Abel's Lamb (Gen 4: 3-5.)
Christ is Noah's Ark (Gen 6: 8, 17-22.)
Christ spoke to Moses in the burning bush (Ex 3: 1-6.)
Christ is the Passover Lamb (Ex 12: 1-13.)
Christ is the Manna in the wilderness (Ex 16: 14, 15; Jn 6: 32-35.)
Christ is the Smitten Rock (Ex 17: 6; I Cor 10: 4.)
Christ is the Serpent lifted up (Nu 21: 4-9; Jn 3: 14, 15.)
Christ is the High Priest who reconciled his people to God (Heb 9: 7-12; Lev 16: 2-19; 34.)
Christ is the Laver in whom those who have been made priests wash and are holy to approach God (Ex 30: 18-21; Heb 10: 19-22.)
Christ is the Altar by whom the believer's life is presented holy and without blame to God (Ex 20: 24-26; Heb 13: 10.)
Christ is the Ark wherein the Law of God is fulfilled (Ex 25: 16, 17, 21, 22)
Christ is the Mercy Seat, the one place, where God will meet with his people.
Christ is the pure Shekel of the Sanctuary from which the floor of the tabernacle was made, the Foundation upon which no work of his priests could take away or add to, declaring that our acceptance with God is by Christ alone (Ex 30: 11-16; 38: 25-27; I Pet 1: 18-21.)
Christ is our Judge, our King, our Kinsman Redeemer (Ju 11: 27; I Sam 8: 4-7; Jn 19: 14, 15; Ru 4: 9-10, 13, 14; Is 54: 4, 5.)
Christ is the good news of the Chronicles.
Christ is our Ezra and Nehemiah by whose person and Spirit the temple of God is built.
Christ is the one glorified in the book of Esther who has been secretly working all things since the world was made by him and for him.
Christ is the Job who suffered and gives patience to his people to suffer for his name sake.
Christ is the Sweet Psalmist of Israel (Ps 1: 1-3.)
Christ is the Wisdom of Proverbs set up before ever the earth was made (Pro 8: 22-31.)
Christ is the glory of God shining before the black backdrop of humanity in Ecclesiastes.
Christ is the Song of Solomon.
None of the prophets had any other message but Christ Jesus the Lord.
The Prophet, himself, had no other gospel, Luke 24: 25: Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27: And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

THIS IS AS HE IS, OUR LIFE, OUR WAY, OUR ALL IN ALL Drew Dietz is pastor of Sovereign Grace Church of Jackson, MO. "...the son of Man came not to be ministered unto but to minister and to give His life a ransom for many." (Mark 10:45). My oh my, what high ground we are on here, this is one of those passages that often times just needs to be read with no commentary added, for the explanation is as bold as it is simply straightforward and clear. What further proof does the child of God need of the servitude and humility of Christ than the pure, absolute and particular substitutionary work of the Lamb of God? Look at the cross and see how He lives, breathes and loves His own; look to the cries and words produced at the cross and feel and know the wonder of a full and complete pardon. Behold Him! See the total and amazing self-lessness which wrought our salvation for all eternity. Because of what He did and the truth of who He is, we are set free to serve Him, serve one another and mind those things which are above and those things that are outside of ourselves; that is to ‘minister to others and not ourselves'. This my friend is not mere doctrine, this is as He is, our life, our way, our all in all. If all you see here is cool, cold and accurate doctrine, then you've missed it and missed it big time.
EFFECTUAL WORKING OF GOD'S WORD Acts 17: 4: And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few Some of them believedmeans through the Spirit of God they were persuaded, given confidence in Christ, so that they cast all their care into his hands. And consorted with Paul and Silas means they broke ranks with the others and associated themselves with their new brethren. The gospel is the word of God, not men, which effectually works this in redeemed sinners (I Thess 2: 13--in KJV remove italicized words and read.)
