Thought For The Week:
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19
Prayer For The Church:
Please pray that God may bless the Holiday Bible Club we are holding this week. Pray that;
* The application of the short plays may be well received.
* For those having to remember lines.
* That the children may enjoy all the activities i.e. singing, quizzes, craft etc.
* Pray that the children may be kept safe, especially crossing the road outside the church.
* Pray that God will protect from anything that would bring Christ's name into the mud.
* As you will know some helpers have taken holiday leave for this club, others are not naturally at ease with young children, please pray that we all may experience our Saviour's supernatural grace.
* Remember the Wednesday evening meeting when we expect to be very full!
Prayer For The Local Area:
Tunbridge Wells is the church on the Prayer Diary for the coming week. The church would appreciate prayer for additional workers for its youth and children's ministries and also as it considers the future direction of its work among young people. Please pray also for the church as it ministers to many elderly members of the church and congregation who are unwell at present.
Sheila Moon (Thamesmead) was called home to be with her Saviour and Lord on Thursday morning. As we thank God for Sheila's life and service to the Lord, please remember Derek and the family in your prayers. The funeral is scheduled to take place on Thursday 26th February beginning with the committal at Plumstead Cemetery at 2.00pm and followed by a Thanksgiving Service at Titmus Avenue, Baptist Church, Thamesmead SE28 8DJ at 3.00pm.
Prayer For Wider Area:
CHRISTIAN COMPASSION MINISTRIES
The new structure in CCM is that it is now divided into three departments. The Residential Homes under Virgie Biala who is Office-in-Charge. The Community Development, Homeless and EAP is under Cathy Gacutan and the Administration under Rebekha Macapagal, one of the Board Members and wife of Pastor Mon.
We would also ask you to pray for the finances needed to maintain all the many operations of CCM during this time of world financial crises. The fall of the English Pound has particularly affected the income of the Foundation. Yet we know our God is able and He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
SPECIAL SEMINARS
God willing we expect to have Dr. Laura Hendrickson, who is a medical doctor trained in psychiatry to be with us at the end of February. She no longer practices psychiatry but is involved in the Biblical Counselling Movement in the USA.
God willing she will be conducting a two day seminar with the CCM staff seeking to deal with the matter of sexual abuse. Many of our girls in the homes have been abused as have some of those in the communities.
CUBAO REFORMED BAPTIST CHURCH
We rejoiced at the beginning of the month with 2 young ladies, both in their 20s, following the Lord in Baptism. Iderly Cajaben and Aurora Villegas.
On the same occasion we heard testimonies from RJ and Shirley a married couple who have been worshipping with us since May and now wish to join us.
They are fine family. It is also hoped that before too long Joseph a young man who has come to Christ through the witness of the Drop-in Centre will also be baptised. We have been awaiting his birth certificate so that he can be married to his common law wife. He was not able to be married due to not having a birth certificate. They have one child and are both very regular at services. We do not believe it right to break up this family, because they are recognized as such, even if Teresa the wife is not yet a Christian. Please pray for her that she will come to truly understand the gospel and trust in Christ.
