Dear Praying Friends,
It is often said that the youth of a nation is the future of a nation. I am convinced that a key to unlock the door to widespread evangelism of México is the reaching of the youth. Please pray as we work to see young people as well as old saved and discipled in México.
In the past couple of Sundays, we have seen the salvation of three young people in our church - fifteen-year-old Erindida; Karen, eleven; and their thirteen-year-old brother René, first reached in our summer's Vacation Bible School. Since then, we have been praying for them and their father, René. He is supposed to come to church with them this Thursday night as he has some spiritual doubts and questions himself. We pray that tomorrow will be the day of his salvation.
We would like to see them all baptized on February 5, along with a schoolteacher, Maria Teresa, who was saved during our fall campaign; her mother, Josefina; as well as a girl named Cynthia whose mother recently joined the church. Pray for the salvation of Antonieta, Maria Teresa's sister, a lawyer, who has come out to church twice lately. She was attracted to the church by the impression left on her seventeen-year old daughter whom I had led to the Lord last fall. Pray for her daughter, Rocio, as her mother wants me to keep encouraging her in the things of God.
A couple of Sunday's ago, Evelyn, another woman from the Ivory Coast who has made our church her church, brought the consul of the Ivory Coast's daughter to the services. Earlier this month, I had gone to the birthday party of the son of the financial director of the embassy. There I met many of the relatives and children of the people who work in the embassy. Pray that we will continue to open doors to reach them for Christ.
We rejoice that, if all goes well, we will have our first elementary major of our Bible Institute graduating this year as well as Angel, a pastoral major. Right now, Fabiola is student teaching in our small academy of seven students. It looks like we will have two other elementary education majors and two pastoral majors graduating in the next two years as well.
I would like to remind you to earnestly pray that God supply the funds for the construction of the 2,800 sq. ft. Christian Education building so that we may be able to do more to reach and disciple the youth of México. The following are the essentials that we need in order to have the building ready by this fall. Without the building, we cannot open the school to more children:
$12,000 for the roof, $4,000 for interior walls, $4,000 for interior and exterior doors, $3,000 for the windows, and $2,000 for the bathroom fixtures
Humanly, it is impossible to have these needs supplied in the next few months, but with God all things are possible. Thank you so much for your prayers.
