Thought For The Week:
"It is good to give thanks to the LORD, And sing praises to Your name, O Most High"
Psalm 92:1
Prayer For The Church:
Pray for the on-going work of the Church as our midweek activities begin this week after the summer break. Particularly, if and when possible, upholding the ministry of the Word during each of these activities.
Thank God for his blessing on the summer camps and for answered prayers. Please to pray that God may continue to work in the hearts of the campers.
Pray for Marilyn as she attends hospital this week regarding her shoulder
"Dear friends
This is just to confirm formally that we have now completely removed the last of our furniture from the flat, and it is available again for whatever use the church would like to make of it.
Both Mona and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and the church for allowing us the use of that flat after Mona's arrival in the UK. It did provide a much valued opportunity for her to become more settled here before we had to look around for somewhere more permanent to live.
Thank you again.
Peter and Mona"
Bexleyheath is the church on our Prayer Diary for the coming week.
Praise God for those that come to the youth meetings and for seeds sown
Praise God for encouragements with the coffee morning outreach and for those that have as a result come into the building for the first time
Praise God for great encouragement and liberty there is in our prayer meetings
Numbers on a Sunday morning are very low. May the Lord's Name be exalted in our midst and may we love Him at all times.
Prayer For The Wider Area:
Christian Compassion Ministries - Philippines
EAP Camp 2008
At the beginning of April, the ninth CCM EAP camp was held at Crystal Beach, Zambales. This year was the first joint camp for couples and teens, replacing the previously separate camps.
Around one hundred and fifty campers made the four hour journey to the beach resort. Each sponsored child was accompanied by their parent or parents. Nearly every family were from slum areas, except for two from the homeless livelihood project. These people have huge needs and many problems. During the three days there was plenty of time for swimming, games and fun and it was great to see so many smiling, happy faces.
The main theme of the camp was the strengthening of family relationships. Each day there was a time for devotions in the morning, followed by studies from the Bible on God's purpose for the family. A Filipino movie about families was shown which was used for discussion and illustration.
Please continue to pray for the ministry of CCM, and particularly that whole families may be converted and join a local church. And thanks again to all those whose financial support makes events like this possible.
