Did you call the Archdiocese of Omaha and ask where they stand on the following statements of the currently binding Catholic Catechism. Our Evangelism Coordinator did call and ask. The Archdiocese stood unequivocally upon every Gospel denying statement.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church (1994) states:
“The Church affirms that for believers the sacraments of the New Covenant are necessary for salvation. 'Sacramental grace' is the grace of the Holy Spirit, given by Christ and proper to each sacrament.” CCC Para 1129
“Baptism,…erases original sin…” CCC Para 405
“Justification is conferred in Baptism, the sacrament of faith.” CCC Para 1992
“In this divine sacrifice which is celebrated in the Mass, the same Christ who offered himself once in a bloody manner on the altar of the cross is contained and is offered in an unbloody manner.” CCC Para 1367
“Taken up to heaven she (Mary) did not lay aside this saving office but by her manifold intercession continues to bring us the gifts of eternal salvation.... Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked in the [Roman Catholic] Church under the titles of Advocate, Helper, Benefactress, and Mediatrix.” CCC Para 969
I appreciate your personal knowledge of Mr. Palau’s life and service. Being his pastor for so many years has no doubt provided a good vantage point from which to gain that personal knowledge. However, the emotional ties born out of close personal relationships can also serve to diminish our objectivity when assessing the theological soundness of an individual’s message and ministry.

I have known Luis Palau for more than 35 years as a friend, pastor and co-worker in the ministry of serving and exalting Jesus Christ. I know his heart concern to see every soul find true life in Jesus, and especially his burden for those of Roman Catholic faith. God has used him to reach millions of people with a clear and biblical message of good news.
