You wrote, "let's not forget we're on the same team trying to do the same thing." IF you, Mr. Palau, and the Association as a whole cannot see how you have undermined the Gospel through your ecumenical methodology; how you have departed from Biblical evangelism; and how you "share in the evil deeds" of pope, bishop, and priest; THEN "we're [NOT] on the same team trying to do the same thing." My continual prayer is that you, Mr. Palau, the Palau Association, and I will be on Christ's team, doing Christ's thing, for His glory, and for the salvation of the lost.
Creativity is overrated. Do what Jesus did. Obey what Jesus commands. The fact that Luis Palau and Billy Graham have developed an ecumenical evangelism method that seems to be successful, does not make it truly successful. Matt 22:29 answers the (DO WHAT WORKS) pragmatic approach to ministry; "You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God." Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments" (John 14:15). Not only did He command us to "do the work of an evangelist" (2 Tim. 4:5), He gave us parameters to do the work within... BE SEPARATE, AVOID THEM, EXPOSE THEM, WITHDRAW FROM THEM, REBUKE THEM SHARPLY, and DO NOT RECEIVE THEM OR EVEN GREET THEM (them = priest, bishop, pope, etc.)
*Charles Spurgeon "False gods (HINDU, MUSLIM, ROMAN CATHOLIC, MORMON, ETC.), attempts to represent the true God, and indeed, all material things which are worshipped, are so much filth upon the face of the earth, whether they be crosses, crucifixes, virgins, wafers, relics, or even the Pope himself. We are by far too mealy mouthed about these infamous abominations: God abhors them, and so should we. To renounce the glory of spiritual worship for outward pomp and show is the height of folly, and deserves to be treated as such." (Spurgeon, The Treasury of David Psalm 106:20)
May God grant you, Mr. Palau, and the Association the heart of Charles Spurgeon, a heart submitted to the whole counsel of God (even the tough parts).
