Thought For The Week:
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Proverbs 9 v 10
Prayer For The Church:
Please pray for the CCIW camps this summer. Pray for Alistair and Norman as they prepare their daily sermons. Pray for the tent officers as they prepare their Bible studies.
Pray for Ruth, Mona as they seek employment.
Pray for Simon and Ali.
Prayer For The Local Area:
Meopham is the church on our Prayer Diary for the coming week. The church correspondent writes: Give thanks for the celebration of our 180th Church Anniversary, new people attending services and an increase in Sunday School. Pray that we will discern God's plan for our future work.
Prayer For The Wider Area:Kosova
• For the street bookstall in Gjilan. This is a new venture. Pray for Femi (not Cakolli) who mans it every day and also for the opportunity to do something similar in Pristinë.
- For the 120 or more people who attended an evangelistic event in Gjlan at the end of June. Pray that God would be at work in their hearts and that the large amount of literature taken will be helpful.
- For Besim Kryeziu, pastor of a small church in Prizren. He has laboured for many years and remains completely confident that God's blessing will come to this town. He particularly sees the need of a permanent presence in the town in the form of a bookshop; perhaps with a suitable meeting room attached (the church currently meets in his home).
- For Gëzime and Shiqerie, two young women who work full time at the church in Pristinë. Their roles include running the bookshop, young people's work and making new contacts in the town. Pray for Gëzime's brother, Alban who is a relatively new convert.
Albania
• For better health for members of the team in Gjirokastër. Joy (daughter of Shaun and Jennifer) had an alarming episode where one side of her body became temporarily paralysed and Geoff Townsend has also been unwell with a chest infection. The news of both is encouraging.
- For Alda who has been working amongst the Gjirokastër students this year with IFES and who hopes to return for a further year.
- For Jamie Clarke who has been accepted by AEM to work in Gjirokastër for the coming year. He is seeking financial support and there will be practical arrangements to be made when he arrives back in Albania in time for the August camps.
- Continue to remember the young people's camps which begin in just a few weeks time. The ‘English' camps for teenagers begin on the 9th and 16th of August and then the older camp for Christians and their guests on the 23rd.
