Tabitha was a sinner therefore she died. Just as Tabitha was totally unable to prepare her body for burial, so she was absolutely unable to prepare herself for the appointed hour when she would meet the thrice holy God.

Only God our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ prepares his saints so that they are holy to come into his presence. The Lord Jesus Christ washed Tabitha in his own blood. The High Priest of God laid her in the upper chamber in the holiest of holies in God's presence when he ascended from the grave with her name on his breastplate. Through the Holy Spirit he washed her and brought her into this upper chamber by faith when he created her anew, sanctifying her, in the inner man. By his work, she was fit to be raised into the presence of God. Thus at the appointed hour, he raised her to be with him forever more.

Tabitha had no more room to glory in any aspect of her salvation while she lived than she did in washing her body and laying in that upper chamber after she died. If any man wants to boast, there is but One in whom we must glory. (I Cor. 1: 30, 31.)
