CALL TO WORSHIP
Prepare me, gracious God
To stand before Thy face!
Thy Spirit must the work perform
For it is all of grace.
In Christ’s obedience clothe
And wash me in His blood
So shall I lift my head with joy
Among the sons of God.
Do Thou my sin subdue
Thy Sovereign love make known
The Spirit of my mind renew
And save me in Thy Son.
Let me attest Thy power
Let me Thy goodness prove
Till my full soul can hold no more
Of everlasting love!
(Tune: “I Love Thy Kingdom Lord” p. 188)

AN EVERLASTING COVENANT
“And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.” (Jer. 32:40)
God’s covenant of grace is an everlasting covenant. It does not have a beginning and it does not have an ending. God’s promise to His people is that, despite all of our sin and weak faith, He will never turn away from His people. God will never cast His people away (Rom. 11:1). God has promised that He will never forsake His people and leave them to their own way (Heb 13:5). The only hope of salvation that a sinful, weak people have is the promise of God’s grace and what a good hope that is!
God’s covenant of grace also ensures that His people will never leave God and quit believing on Christ for all of their salvation. Again, what a good hope a believer has in God’s promise of grace. We know that if the Lord leaves us alone, we would fall away in a heartbeat. But God has promised that He will not allow His people to fall away from Him. What a good hope!
God’s covenant of grace also ensures that God will only do good for His people. Everything that God does is good for His people. God never does anything that is bad for His people. This is a great comfort for the believer who is hurting in a time of trial. My heart is comforted knowing that the Lord is doing something good for me, even though it doesn’t feel like it at the moment.
Believer don’t ever despair. God’s promise of grace is always in effect for you.

Believing God is a miracle of God's grace. It comes as a surprise to the sinner. For the first time he hears good news in the preaching of the Gospel. He cannot get enough of hearing and reading the word of God. Christ has been formed within him. What a happy day! Brother Scott Richardson used to say, "Your salvation only surprises you—God purposed it!"
Pastor Clay Curtis
How painfully true indeed that so many true believers are being filled with pride and hate to the point they cannot refrain from exposing some perceived, or real, weakness in another believer. If love covers a multitude of sins, what is it that uncovers every fault and flaw in another but hate -sad reality!
How the Holy Spirit must be grieved when such divisions are caused among true believers. We are commanded to endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Eph.4:3). The word “endeavoring” means to make an honest and earnest effort -even exert oneself to keep this unity of the Spirit, and to do it with “all speed”.
Lord forgive me when and where I have been the cause of unwarranted divisions among your purchased saints. Forgive me where I have grieved your heart in doing and saying anything that has broken this precious unity among those who believe your gospel -help me, by your grace, to mend my ways.
Pastor Bruce Crabtree
BLAMING GOD
Just because our God brings good out of evil, does not mean that evil is good. The responsibility for sin always lies squarely on the shoulders of the sinner. Nowhere in Scripture does God relieve us of our guilt by saying, “It’s OK, I ordained it.” Neither does He say, “You are just a sinner, you can’t help yourself.” Nor does He allow us to justify the means by the end. Yes, our omnipotent, sovereign God brings good out of evil for His people. That is seen most clearly at Calvary. Yet that never makes evil good. Nor does it justify disobedience.
“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth He any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Do not err, my beloved brethren” (James 1:13-16). “If we confess (say the same thing) our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (I John 1:9).
Take sides with God against yourself, and rest in Christ for all your justification and righteousness.
