"YOU ATONE FOR OUR TRANSGRESSIONS" - Psalms 64 Vs3, "When iniquities prevail against me, you atone for our transgressions."
God pays for our sin! Let the heavens stand amazed. Let the earth worship. All of us, Come and adore him!
It's unfathomable beyond comprehension that God pays for the sins that we've committed, so he can give us grace. This is the goodness of God's character behind the veil. Now, we see his glory, and the utter beauty of his perfection. He helps us because he atoned for our transgressions with his own blood. He gave up his Son, and then he raised him!
Take this glorious atonement. Add nothing to it. Proclaim his greatness, not your own.
Vs9, "You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it."
Secondly, God is a providing God. Trust him to do everything. Preach grace, and good works PROVIDED BY GOD. Don't leave anything in man's hands, or you dishonor Christ, look to self, and glory in the flesh. Let God do it. He will do the saving. Lean back, and relax. Rest in him, and preach peace peacefully. James 3:18, "And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace for those who make peace." Go by faith, rather than by contribution. Rely on God, entirely.
Your soul will rest, and taste his sweetness. He'll work in you with power. Only believe, and he'll do everything. Go to him in prayer. Vs2, "O you who hear prayer, to you shall all flesh come."
Vs13, "The meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy."
Finally, joy is the fruit of the gospel. It's joy the world can't know: it's walking with God in the Spirit.
He gives us obedience, and then he blesses it. He receives our repentance and tears. He shows where we're wrong, and sets our feet on the right way. He forgives our sin.
Taste and see the Lord is good. Put on the gospel by experience. Rely on Christ's finished work, and do God's will. Rely on the Spirit, and be sincere. Glorify God, and you'll be joyful!
