David Whitmarsh. On Thursday David advised us that he is resigning his position as Finance Officer of AGBC(SE) and Company Secretary of GBC Ltd on 31st December 2007. As David has some annual leave his last working day will be 21st December. We thank David for all his hard work as Finance Officer of AGBC(SE) and as Company Secretary of GBCL. We will miss him! Please pray for David as he takes up his new post and for those who will be covering the work that he was responsible for. Please also pray that the Lord will lead us to a new Finance Officer for AGBC(SE) and a new Company Secretary for GBC Ltd.
Prayer For The Wider Area:
News from Wayne and Carol Mack - Grace School of Ministry - Pretoria, South Africa
We just finished a course with our students on Marriage and Family Counselling and Counselling Young People. Some of the students from Malawi and Zambia told us that there are no distinctly Biblical Counsellors in their countries. They look forward to training others in their countries with the material they are receiving here. Some of our students from South Africa are already involved in reteaching the material they have received - one at a Bible College in Capetown, another in Robertson, another has been asked to teach a course at a Reformed Baptist Ministry training school for pastors in the Gauteng area of RSA. It's exciting as we see the ripple effect of what
we are doing here at GSM.
During the past week, we invited all of the students to our home for a meal and for fellowship on Friday evening. What a glorious time we had - great food prepared by Carol with some help from Beth and Marda, wonderful fellowship among the students from many countries (black and white) and with us. The students from many African countries came and were so appreciative. Carol would love to do this during every week of classes. She is such a helper and so involved in what we're doing. Our next week-long course will be the first full week in November - Marriage and Family Topics and Essential Qualities of Biblical Counsellors. In the M & F Topics course we'll be covering such things as Premarital Counselling, Marriage, Divorce and Remarriage, Beginning Again After Unfaithfulness, Single Parenting, Blended Family Counselling, normal Family Counselling, Counselling couples with Sexual Problems, Post Divorce Counselling, etc.
Please be in prayer for us as Carol and I will be doing almost three weeks of ministry in Germany and Switzerland from November 20 until December 10. Also we have contracted with P & R to write a book called "It's Not Fair" and I am writing a foreword for a book by two of my students - one by Deborah Howard (Where is God In All This?) and another by Alan Lester (The Exhausted Addict). Also Josh will be teaching a course at the Evangelical Reformed Seminary on Counselling Young People from October 10 - 15.
