O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever. Psalm 136:1-4
I Am Not Ashamed
“For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day” (2 Tim. 1:12).
Borrowing some of the words of an old writer, I say this deliberately and emphatically. I am fully aware that the message of God’s sovereign and free grace is not popular and acceptable in this day. It is despised by many. But none of these things move me. I am not ashamed of what I believe nor of Him who is my hope.
After forty years of Bible reading and preaching, I find myself clinging more tightly than ever to the “gospel of free grace,” and, more than ever, I am satisfied with it. It wears well; it stands the fire; it glorifies God; it comforts the heart; it is true to the Word.
In the faith of our sovereign Redeemer I have lived for over a third of a century and, in that faith, I hope to die.

Faith, not a Feeling
Salvation is not a question of feeling, as so many would make it. It is entirely a matter of faith in a person, in an accomplished fact faith wrought in the soul of a sinner by the power of the Holy Ghost. This faith is something quite different from a mere feeling of the person or an assent of the intellect. Mere feeling and sentimentality (or emotion) can never rise above the source from whence they come and that source is self; but faith has to do with God and His eternal Word, and is a living link, connecting the heart that possesses it with God who gives it. Feelings and sentiments can never connect with the soul of God. No doubt, faith will produce feeling and sentiments (spiritual feelings and truthful sentiments)—but the fruits of faith must never be confounded with faith itself. He can only be known by His own revelation and by the faith which He Himself imparts. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that (faith) not of yourselves; it is the gift of God”(Ephesians 2:8).

Do You Confess That Christ Is Lord?
We all know that none are saved except those who confess that Christ is Lord. But what does it mean to confess Christ as Lord? All religious people make such a confession with their lips; but that certainly cannot be salvation. Even Satan acknowledges the Lordship of Christ in that way. To confess that Christ is Lord is to acknowledge him as Lord by a heart surrender and commitment to him as such. True saving faith involves a submission of the heart to the Lord Jesus Christ. This submission of the heart to Christ is the ruling principle of every believer’s life. Without this willing, voluntary submission of the heart there is no salvation.

AMEN, AMEN
“And all the angels stood round about the throne…saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. (Rev.7:11-12).
As the angels worshipped the Lord Jesus Christ, notice what the angels said concerning the gospel of Christ…sevenfold description of the gospel:
1). Blessing, our Lord is blessed in Himself and is the source, fountain and spring of all spiritual blessings to others including angels and sinners (Psalm 103:1; Eph. 1:3).
2). Glory, our Saviour is the Lord of glory; all glory is due His name; all His works of creation, providence and salvation are glorious; (Rom. 11:36; 1 Cor. 1:30; Gal. 6:14).
3). Wisdom, In Christ are hid all the treasures of the wisdom of God; (Col. 2:3); He is the only wise God our Saviour; (1 Tim. 1:17; Psalm 85:10).
4). Thanksgiving; “In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ concerning you” (1Thes. 5:18).
5). Honor; from all His creatures for He is their Creator John 1:3; from all the sons of God, for Christ is the Author of salvation; from all His servants, for He is their Lord; (Acts 2:36; Phil. 2:7-9).
6). Power; all power in saving and preserving His people; (Matt. 28:18; John 17:2; 1 Peter 1:5).
7). Might; sovereignty or strength; He is mighty to save; (Isa. 63:1; Psalm 135:5).
All these things the Lord Jesus Christ is forever and forever (Heb. 13:8). He will never be diminished in His glory and power, we say with the angels…AMEN!!!!
“For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen” (Rom. 11:36).
